What is Bellafill?

Bellafill is a dermal filler made of collagen-based polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres. When your practitioner injects the gel-like material, it fills in areas that have lost elasticity and collagen due to age. The microspheres lock into place and provide support and structure for your skin, onto which your own natural collagen can develop, ultimately leaving you with visibly smoother skin that improves over time.

How soon will I see results with Bellafill?

Because Bellafill is a dermal filler that instantly plumps your skin, you can expect to notice a dramatic difference in your appearance almost immediately.  Additionally, the unique microspheres in Bellafill called PMMA, provokes a response from the body to form collagen around these tiny microspheres thus providing valuable collagen filler that will last for up to 5 years, smoothing out those lines and creases.

Will I need more than one Bellafill treatment?

Number of treatments depends on the degree and severity of the wrinkles or scars. Your provider at Skin Med Spa will help you determine the amount of Bellafill you will require. Patients often prefer Bellafill injections over other dermal fillers because it lasts up to five years. Once the body metabolizes and removes the Bellafill filler, you can certainly have the injections done again.

Am I a good candidate for Bellafill dermal fillers?

Likely, yes. Bellafill is an FDA-approved treatment filling in creases such as the smile lines (nasolabial fold) and scars. Ideal Bellafill candidates are generally healthy and over age 21. It works equally well for both men and women with varying types of skin imperfections.

Bellafill might not be right for you if you have a known reaction to Lidocaine or bovine collagen. It’s also not always the best option if you have a bleeding disorder or are prone to excessive scar formation.
