How often should I get a facial?

For general skin health, every 4 to 6 weeks is the sweet spot, timed to your skin's natural renewal cycle. Acne-prone skin may benefit from every 2 to 4 weeks at first.

Your skin cell turnover runs on roughly a 28-day cycle in younger adults, lengthening with age. A professional facial every 4 to 6 weeks meets that rhythm, keeping exfoliation, extraction, and hydration consistent rather than letting congestion and dead-cell buildup accumulate between visits.

The right interval depends on your skin and your goal. If you are managing active breakouts, tighter spacing of every 2 to 4 weeks early on helps get congestion under control, then you space out as things stabilize. If your aim is maintenance and glow, every 4 to 6 weeks is plenty. For deeper concerns like texture or pigmentation, a medical-grade facial or peel series on a defined schedule outperforms frequent light facials.

A useful distinction: a relaxing spa facial and a results-driven medical facial are not the same tool. One feels wonderful and supports the skin barrier. The other uses clinical-strength actives and devices to move the needle on a specific concern.

What you do at home between visits matters more than the visit itself. Consistent daily care is what makes the in-office work last.
